Post Cold Front: A Couple Quick Redfish
After enjoying a cool Sunday afternoon with some family friends. Phil and I were able to jump down to the marina and take a few casts. It was in the uppers 50’s, but the wind had finally laid down. We got on the dock about an hour before sunset.
I decided to bring along some frozen hand pick shirmp, figuring the fish would be pretty lock jaw after a 30 degree temperature drop during the last 36 hours. So, so 2olb flurocarbon leader, 1/4oz jig heads and some shrimp pieces, we were in business.
To my surprise, we were able to get a decent bite for about 30 minutes and landed 3 redfish from 19″ – 25″. It ended up being a great end to a laid back Sunday. Hopefully the snook bite on artificial will pick up this week once the temps go up.
