IMG_0772-300x225 Matlacha Redfish - Negative Winter Tides Fishing Reports Videos This was my first time launching the new 2013 Hobie Pro Angler 14 out into Matlacha Pass. The plan was to make a decent run to fish some mud flats down south. I was very impressed how well I was able to run into the wind and cover ground in the tide. I was comfortable maintaining a 3knt speed in 15mph sustained winds.

Once we got in shallow, I slipped out the mirage drive and opted to use my Yak Attack 8′ Park and Pole to push myself along the flats. Water clarity was pretty good considering it was Matlacha Pass on a windy day. Top baits for the day were the Hogy 6inch Skinny Series and 5inch Bunny Swim Baits fished on lightly weighted swim bait hooks.
