The redfish bite has quickly been improving as we move along into mid March. On a recent trip with Capt. Mike Herzog of Rip N Lip Charters we set out to target redfish in Pine Island Sound. There have been several large schools of reds hanging along the outer islands in 2′ – 4′ of water. Fishing has been best near small pot holes and mottled bottom.

It was a very quick bite, offering several doubles and even a triple hookup while photographing the catch! The best fishing has been during the middle to end of the incoming tide.
